Last month, we featured Deep Nostalgia, an AI-powered tool from genealogy platform MyHeritage that reanimats photos to bring portraits to life. Today, My Heritage has announced an update to Deep Nostalgia that adds ten new ‘special animations’ that include new gestures and expressions to the animated portraits.
Since its release five weeks ago, MyHeritage says Deep Nostalgia has created over 72 million animations. These ten new animations double the number of animations to choose from and include a wider range than the first ten available when Deep Nostalgia first launched. Below is a list of the new animations you can try out:
- Dance 1
- Dance 2
- Kiss and wink
Below is a sample animation of Kiss:
And below is a sample animation of Compassion:
Selecting one of these new ‘special animations’ is not available from the usual Deep Nostalgia landing page, which MyHeritage says is ‘only meant for quick animation and sharing.’ Instead, these new animations are limited to the MyHeritage mobile app (Android, iOS) and under the ‘Photos’ section on MyHeritage’s family site.
MyHeritage has a guide on how to use these animations and more in its announcement blog post.
